    The collective brain powah of the FHC members is needed, badly. My pea brain can't come up with even one gizmo / contraption idea for these two old elec actuator rams and I REALLY don't want to just toss em. They came off a med bed my Mom had years ago and they ought to be useful for sumthin other than a boat anchor. Ram travel is a little over 6"... slow and very quiet (almost 30 sec travel)... each ram has in & out with travel limits set (stops auto at it's limit)... guessing maybe a 200 lb max load, dunno. So..... anything come to mind? Here they are. Hammer is for perspective... tube is not bent, that's just a skeptical delusion... :whistle: What say you?

    I know your back bothers you, maybe for lifting something in the garage or near the stove? I have one of those in my garage and I haven't found a use for it. Mine is 12/24 volt D.C., I'm assuming yours is 120volt AC. I know how handy you are, you'll find a use for them!

    I also have 2 of them I saved. When you figure something out I will copy it. I have had them about 10 years now in the cabinet. I build Halloween props and they are just to slow for anything. They have decent power, just way to slow. Ah someday I will find a use.

    Solar panel aiming rams to follow the sun? Set it up on timer to move as needed?

    They'd shine for that Bo... slow, quiet, etc... hmmm... not sure if they'd stand up to weather tho... look like inside only. Do solar panels work inside? :zip:

    Speaking of which....:whistle::rofl: :lol:

    I like Bo's idea- they could maybe be covered to protect from elements.

    Or, retrofit into your armchair for a homemade lift chair:BrianK:

    One idea I had (prolly never happen) is a cooking swing arm, out over the firepit with one ram... and raising / lowering with the other. Hmmmm...

    If you did a gearbox, the speed could be adjustable.......or a couple pulleys and belt like on a drill press. Possible? I dunno...........

    Would seem to me you could one for and adjustable wedge on a wood splitter. A little slow, but no plumbing or valve needed on an existing unit. You could increase the travel distance by making it a double arm set up. A secure pet door opener? Or maybe a lift for a hospital bed.:D
