With all this crap in our gas. I gave up on the 2 stroke's. So we have had our Toro 36 volt weed whacker, Hedge trimmer and a mini leaf blower for about 2 or 3 years. I went the lithium root as hated the Dewalt batteries in my 18 volt home kit. I opted to the 18 volt lithiums a few years ago and it solved my battery dyeing and crappin out issues.

I'm still nervous with the lithiums and won't leave them in the charger over night. We had some Makita's poof on us at work. Our store room still has charred marks on the work bench. Pieces of the charger still melted on it too. Don't trust em one bit!! But they don't have the Nimh or Nicd tendencies, So we are just more careful with them.

Corded seems to be the best way to go for these beasts. Too much draw from the large motors

Crazy weather about to drive me nuts.

Yesterday was mid 50's F with rain all day.
Late in the afternoon it changed to cool showers with some sun, and by early evening the house was 72 F

Turned off the stove and things looked good going into the late evening.

By morning the outdoor temp was 44 F and without a fire the house had dropped to 59 F BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :shiver:

Cranked up both Whits and only an hour ago did I shut off the big one.

This is the first time we have used two stoves this late in the season.

Weather folks say cool and showery through the coming week.

    Then comes "Juneuary" ????

    On to other pressing projects.
Our rear entry door (WE call it the front door) is on our southern facing deck and gets hammered with wind and rain.

Without a storm door the wind will blow water into the door and then it runs down and inside the laundry room.

Sadly the standard storm doors are flimsy and the spring cylinder closures will not latch them.

If someone fails to latch the door properly the wind will catch it and slam it into the house, breaking the outdoor light and destroying the door.

The UPS..FEDEX dudes will open the door, drop a package between the storm and main door and not latch the door .

We come home to a wrecked door and a wet package.

    ENOUGH

We have switched from RH to LH storm doors and to no avail... still destroys the door.

    GRAND IDEA.

Going to custom build a sliding storm door out of steel tubing and use a matching siding on the lower half and a vinyl window similar to whats in the house up top.

Gonna mount it on a roller track.

Gonna use the round ball type track with the carriages inside.

    Tired of the carnage.

    YES INDEED
Little stove churning away all day yesterday and through the night.

Snow at the 3500 ft level this morning too.

Did someone mess up the calendar ???? I though it was mid May ???

The other day we had mid 80's F for a couple days and now we are back to 39 F this morning :picard:

Yesterday morning we had 2 stoves on for about 4 hours to bring the temp up as we left things off the night before.

    Strange weather.

    You and me....
However... I will say that the premixed fuel is tons better.
    But it's wicked expensive.
My son gets it occasionally, so I swipe his when I visit...

I only use the canned gas in my chain saw. Which is now basically just for looks unless the last of the 2 tree's in the yad drop a limb. Or I gotta cut some 6 x 6 posts for the fencing. Chit is way too expensive. and so is the non ethanol race gas at the speed shop and has way too much octane.

Last of the yad tools that use pump gas are the lawn mower, generator, walk behind leaf blower, sn*w blower and the roto tiller. These big tools seem fine with pump gas as long as its treated. Since I've had an issue with the sn*w blower(due to sitting almost 3 years with out use), I'm also gonna take some extra steps and drain the gas on the tools that sit for long periods. Pull the line off at the carb and drain it. Maybe poor a little of that canned gas in and fire it up for a minute or two. And then drain that out as well. May also use a coffee filter to strain the drained gas to help catch contaminants from the tanks??

We may upgrade to a battery mower when this one wears out. But first I gotta get a bigger(battery powered) leaf blower that no has cord. I can't deal with the cords!! I trip enough on my own, No needs any help at that!!
