    I finally remembered to get some pics on the way to the cottage! Nothing special, just a tree errr-whats left of it, from visits by a pileated.

    Poor little guy! I love bird watching too - they kinda start to feel like pets after they've been hanging around for a while.

    yooperdave was that an Ash? Regarding the woodpecker population increase in recent years, I've wondered if it's got anything to do with the EAB. Perhaps a faint silver lining on that tragedy.

    Don't think so. Tree is only a bit higher that where it is cut off in the pic.
