In my fleet I have a VERY old and abused echo cs6700 it runs good when I can get it going.

My issue is this the saw has gotten harder and harder to start over time and recently it's become almost impossible. It will flood then when I pull the plug dry it out and crank it over again it will fire for a few seconds and die. Then I have to start all over again.

    Plug is new
    Has spark
    Air filter clean and breathing
Fuel filter clean fuel lines look good
    Carb is new.
    Piston isn't scored
    Jug looks good

I'm stumped what am I missing here?

Yes well I am about to tear the old beater apart and thoroughly clean it out. There is probably 20 years of what looks like grease all over everything. When I pulled the ignition coil it was so badly caked and baked I had to lightly sand it! :loco: :loco: :loco: :loco:

I will probably get some new plastic if I can find any for it.

That all means I will completly forget about the switch now! :rofl: :rofl:

I am interested for sure depending on why its a part saw and the shape its in! Also depending on the model because some of the parts varied depending on the year.

I slapped the coil from Red97 in it tonight and it fired up but it's still having a flooding issue. New carb but I guess I'm tearing it open after all. :picard:

Try loosing your fuel cap. That'll eliminate a vent issues that could pressurize your system and cause flooding.

took the fuel cap off and it had the same issue. I gotta admit firing it up without the cap is like a three legged elephant running up hill while balancing a balloon!

You can loosen he cap unpressurize it, then tighten it back down, even of that's the problem it will run like normal for a bit then pull vacume and act up. You can then loosen cap while running or cut off loosen then retighten it, it should start and act like normal for a minute or two or more depending on how much fuel was in tank.

Just a tip but sounds like you have it handled pete
