How long do ya think this sycamore is going to last?

    Power co. came through recently by daughters house, I'm surprised they didn't take it out , power line going right through it .

    If it were power, I'd say the tree would have had some ridonculous shaping applied to it for just the line to pass thru, but the phone company don't seem to care, at all:hair::hair::hair:

    Yeah that looks like phone company wire, looks like the power comes from the other side of the road.
    I'd say that tree will last about 3 years in your farwood stacks...probably not long for the world in its current upright position though

    If it falls to the left it won't be good , house is about 30 yards away.

    Daughter went and asked when they were takin down , they said they wanted the wood , don't look like it .
    Maybe they are not capable of dealing with that big log , I my go over and ask again if they want me to get that log n stump outa there

    I'd defiantly go drop HDRock it doesn't look to bad. I'd go look for ya and see. Pics don't normally do it justice. I am thinking I could get it down though.

    I'd call the phone co and have the line taken down for a couple hours. Makes it easy.

    Well as long as the tree is less than 90' tall, its all good then! :whistle:
    Just need to have the phone co git their old obsolete wire outta yur tree before you put a 2 stroke powered lowering kit on it for them ;)

    Not in a hurry but I didn't know it was like that till yesterday , it's going to be a hazard sooner or later .

    There is a good layer of live wood that seems to wrap around most of the trunk. I have seen a lot of really big sycamores that are hollow and seem to live for a very long time.
