A coworker sends me pictures of the wildlife around his place about this time every year ....I got this one this morning....said he's done working on the firewood for the season.

My mom lives in Louisiana. Water mocosans everywhere. They wont walk in the woods without snake boots and a gun

When I went my preference was a 16" barrel shotgun, no choke and bird shot. Nice spread and one and done.

I used to use a shovel on them, then I thought, "what if they swirl up the shovel and grab my hand?" So now I just scream like a girl and run...

Now this is kind of funny because I live in Maine, a good sized snake is a 18 inches long and we are the only state in the nation with no poisonous snakes. Some say were were too dumb to leave Maine and farm ledge rock and snow, but I am not so sure. I do NOT like snakes...

Back when I worked for the railroad we were just outside of Lincoln Nebraska and I went to weld up a locomotive and as I laid down, one snake went one way, and the other went the opposite way, and Lodge Tree went upward just as fast climbing the locomotive, getting in the cab and did not get out for the rest of the night.

The boss came the next morning and was upset that the locomotive was not welded up, and asked me why. When I told him, he scoffed, but I had one up on him. He hated heights and so I said, "I will climb 400 feet in the air, that does not bother me, but snakes I don't do", and he knew it and so I was off the hook.
