Thats on the east side of my yard and the field is on the west side. That's my 6" curtain drain going into my neighbors 12" tile. My 6" was completely full!
My buddies basement flooded really bad last night close to 1000sq ft under 3" of water from the ridicules amount of melting snow. His sump pump couldn't keep up so we started the shop vac and made snow berms outside which actually helped a great deal. There is literally river in his driveway and his yard is worse than 3 weeks of spring rain. Then I got home to a totally flooded soaking wet garage! I had a huge chunk of ice over the floor drain so it got removed. It looked like a toilet got flushed and I lost a socket down the drain... I'll get it back today though with a stack and magnet. Where the screen went I have no idea.
Ya thats a lotta water Trilifter My buddy's farm house across the road doesnt need a sump pump as if the cellar floods he just opens the back door We made the path yesterday but was just checking on it this morning and seams fine now BUT its still pouring out. In watching the hockey game right now "Go Canada Go Eh" but will be back out after it to do some more wet snow moving.. That all sucks Pete
We still have around 8" or more of snow on the ground......bit nits a wet, soggy slop.......can't even run the snowmobile in it. Which has me mad as I wanted to use it to haul firewood off now the farm this weekend for cooking syrup next week. I may end up doing a double pine tree removal on Sunday instead. Both around 45' tall and right between a house and power line, gotta climb 'em both! Pics to follow if it happens. Stay dry, fellas! Gonna be a mess for a while!
We did get thunder twice Thursday night but did not get much rain and no snow to speak of. However, on Friday the wind howled and in places they got some pretty good snow squalls. Big pileup on US127 north of Alma and some more accidents on I-75. Whiteout conditions causes some strange things to happen.
Sav, can't remember where I saw the video on YouTube, but at least one maple op was using an ATV with tracks hauling a pretty good sized sled with it's sap tank mounted to it. They went all over in snow, mud, hills, etc picking up sap. I'm guessing their tank was at least 200 gallons. Lotta weight sloshing around. Didn't look as though the ATV was working very hard. Cool stuff…
