I'll try that once the weather gets better and I can just feed it wood And go for awhile. Then get to my super big rounds. (
I just wish I could LOVE this post as opposed to merely liking it...my friend Horkn ...He speaks the TRUTH!!!!
Congratulations FatBoy85 you will no doubt have lots of fun with your new splitter. Youre right about saving the back and shoulders. You wont have to worry about how hard a round is to split since you have that bad boy! Enjoy!!
Thanks bro! No need for sugery eh Sean? Need to save my rotator cuffs for later. This is the cheap way to keep that from happening. aside from easy to split rounds, this is gonna do its thing from here on out.
Im a strong believer in hydraulics! When I was a young man and using my first wood stove I would split a cord of wood by hand to relax and think nothing of it. I still enjoy splitting wood with my axe especially if I have some built up frustration but I pay for it a bit now. I can run my splitter all day long without any lasting affects on my body.
Splitting wood has been my go to when I'm stressed or aggrieved. A little bit of axe therapy does wonders.
Ditto!!!!! But My using the splitter yesterday was like whoa, you could still turn some angst into some real cutting power/ motivation. With that kinda mentality, folks would leave you be to do your thing.
I dunno, there's something to be said for the appearance of glaring at your most hated neighbors while wielding an axe
Good choice - that will pay for itself in no time. One of the best parts about hydraulics for me is being able to use wood that most are scared to attempt, or are so sloppy that they'd just rot if they had to be split by hand. I have a 22 ton as well, and it's only stopped twice. Both on the same tree; a brutal yard maple that was enormous, and had limbs at all sorts of crazy angles damm near down to the roots. A coupe pieces had to be split from the side in order to go with the grain.
Okay, I'm taking the leap. Getting the County Line 25 ton splitter from Tractor Supply. It had the best reviews of every splitter I could afford. The down side none of the stores near me have one! They have to order it in. It will take a week or 10 days to get it. More time to cut those monster logs into monster rounds.
Tried it out on some straight and not-so straight maple. Wow. About damm time...gotta give myself a break though. Its better with two people when one is splitting and the other stacks. Some of this slowed the ram down but it just ends up gutting it. Im guessing these will have some major burn times. This opens up my uglies category as I'll likely get them in good sizes for the stove.
To bad they don't have one for ya now , but that will do ya just fine , basically same as mine, different motor a couple more ton . Did they give a date it will be there ?
