That was a small maple that got smashed down when the big ash got dropped down on top of it last year, I have only a little bit of it

Did ya get a pic or 2 when it happened? The leaner Reds me and the misses dealt with 10 months ago is already cracked and sounds like a baseball bat.;) Burnt the standing dead stuff all winter.:)

I did get pics of all that when Ash was dropped, but pizzed me right off,, I got a whammy on me when I was transferring pictures from my phone to the PC, all my pictures that were on my phone at the time, went off into never-never land.
I tested it today because I didn't know if it would be dry because I did not split it until last fall, but its 14%

Mine made for a nice relaxing way to unwind after a long day today. As.long ad they don't go to waste it's all good.

Tonight's fire was a load of bark, a pallet, then a bunch of 3-8" locust limb cutoffs. Then once there was a good bed of coals a large chunk of maple that I couldn't easily bust up went on top

Dadblasted rain. With the damp and cool, we'll probably be having fires for a few days.

Makes a big difference when the sun don't shine.
It's been nice not having the fire all the time

I was surprised when I looked at the rain gauge a bit ago when there is only 1.2" in it. But, more to come. It does appear that the worst was much south of us.

Had a few passing showers today, one for 10 mins, then it spit for abut 5 mins while the wife and I were in the hot tub.

I hope nobody was in the path of those storms last night!

I like to use rain water for my tropical fish and today I got to collect over 5 gallons just because my wheel barrow was right side up and out in the open. It has definitely been raining here.

If I used wheel barrow rain water for fish, they would have to be mud-puppies!
