I may have bit off more than I can chew, especially now that it's fishing season. I noticed my neighbors had several big ash and oak trees marked to be taken down. Obviously I was interested in SOME of the wood, especially the oak. My neighbor said he could use some too so we kept our eyes out for the tree company.

I have been busy all week at a conference and received a text from my neighbor that the tree guys were cuttin and he was going to go talk to them. Next thing I know my wife is sending me this picture of our front yard.

They were dumping this while I was in a class. No biggie I thought. Then a few hours later I start getting more pictures.

These are big trees, over 20" dbh. 7 dump trailers full. Luckily my neighbor is going to help. I am going to start cutting tomorrow. Every neighbor near me is going to have a stack of wood next to their fire pits.

    Nice!

Yes, that'll take some time, but it sounds like you'll have some help to process it.

Wow. I guess it is that old saying, be careful what you ask for. That is a lot of wood.

That's a win-win!! Good sized wood and it's already at your front door. Will be a good workout for sure.

That's a good "oops", unless you're the grass. Happy processing!

7 dump trailer is a LOT. I had 2 dumped a few weeks ago and it's been a decent amount of work. 7 would be rough

Say goodbye to that manicured lawn---think of the wood chips alone! Maybe you could roll a couple massive chunks over to that mulched island so by August your yard looks more like suburbia and less like the wilds of Rabbit Hash (let's say)

That's a good problem to have right there! Host a GTG and watch it be turned into firewood in no time! Many hands make light work... just don't forget the :ithappened:

Indeed that is a good problem! I'd be super happy to see something like that dumped at my place.

Excellent :woodsign: now comes the fun part :saw::axe::stacke:. You do have some work ahead of you, but it will be worth the effort.

I just began cutting my tree service score today. This is about 1/3 of the total gift.
