The tree service came back today. This pile is some huge ash, much larger than the picture seems to show. The first load I didn't get a chance to get photos of because I had to move it before more comes. It was oak and ash. The guy said there will be many more loads like this today. I'll report back later with more pictures.

Looks like I won't need to fell trees this year.

Nice "back"!! Yeah, you need something next to them for perspective. I usually use my x27.

I have similar growth on trees around here. In my case, I believe it's lichens, instead of a moss.

The third load, BIG red oak and ash. Sorry about the nasty foot, only thing I could use to give an idea of the size of the log. The guy said one more load today and maybe as many as three tomorrow. I'm in log heaven!

Any chance of getting those beasts stacked cris-cross? Maybe, you have something thinner, branch length? If it were me, and I knew logs like that were on their way, I'd try to find some way to get them off the ground for cutting to length. Just s thought.

    Nice way to get BTU's!!

I don't know yet. My BX can push them but trying to lift them is s joke! All it does when I try to lift the bucket is pick up the back of the tractor. A friend of mine has a Bobcat with a grapple but he is out of action due to knee replacement 2 weeks ago and I have no clue how to operate it.

Ralphie Boy how did you move those beasts? And congratulations as that definitely is some prime firewood.

I played 'roll the log' with my BX 2660. No way to lift them. With this mountain of wood I may have to buy a splitter. I ain't gonna live long enough to split it by hand!

No, I doubt if you need a splitter for these and if you enjoy splitting by hand, this is the right wood to do it with. However, a splitter will speed the task a lot and save wear and tear on the axe or maul. Well, maybe on the body too.
