20170424_174938.jpg It's a beautiful day, and I'm caught up on the work that pays me. I should be outside spending a little time chopping the 2 loads of maple I brought home yesterday, but I'm just not feeling up to it. After wedging some of these behemoths open, then lumping their thankfully very dry carcass' into the truck, I'm just not ready for more today.

I split the first load as it came out of the truck, but they were smaller and I had time to do it. Much less daunting that way. I need to do that when I can going forward.

Walked and ran 6 miles late this afternoon after putting the splitter away and changing into running gear. I have to get my training going now.

Wife made home made meatloaf, wild rice, and mixed veggies for dinner! For some reason I need no training for the consumption of that!:beerbbq:

I hope you don't get discouraged man. That wood will wait quite a while for you. :)

My wife however, will not wait for me on this load!

This is right in the spot where I proposed that we eventually put a garden, gonna sun this wood right behind it. Now wife and teen are expecting the garden to just magically appear. I had to dig down and show my wife that the pea stone is at least 8" deep and 10'x20' and that its not as simple as she thinks it is to just move it out of there.

This stuff doesnt really have too much longer that it can wait, its soft maple and already been down for over 2 years. Not punky....but getting there! I'll have no problem picking away at it an hour here and there, my body is just saying not today. Looks like the weather is telling me not Tues-Wed either. I'll have it split later this week, work and weather permitting.

I bought one last year. It also catches a heck of a lot of months. When you empty it, dump it out on a flat surface and watch the fun. Birds have a feast scooping up those bugs. I found the best prices for one of those on EBay.

Went into work with a bum back today and should have stayed home instead.

Bent over all day long with limited mobility. And pain. Lots of pain.

Finally starting to get better now. We'll see what happens once the morning arrives. May take a trip to the Drs instead of the trip to work!

Thanks, they're getting a little more frequent than they used to be. Deteriorating bulging and all that blah blah blah.

But I'm NOT gonna take retirement lying down!

schlot When I bowled every week (back in the early 70's) I would be near 200 but not quite close enough to call it that. (High 100s) Getting an occasional game of 200 or better was an accomplishment for me then!

Now a days with bowling once a year, I'm happy to break 125! :picard:And usually don't....

I got the copper colored 2000XL new on Amazon for $110.

It was a smoking deal, I've found no better deal than that.

It's been a bit chilly, so it's not catching too many bugs yet. Soon though, it will.

Back is better from overnight rest. Felt a good spasm while washing up this morning; hope its not an indication or warning.

Think I'll go in for some torture and regret it later!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Finally having some coffee, setting plan for the day. I think I'll try planting up some cucumbers for transplanting later when we get past the fear of frost and the ground warms up. I've done this before with good results. Also will start some squash seedlings. I started some giant pumpkins on the 15th. So far, they haven't shown up yet.

Just got back from my morning walk. For a week of predicted rain, it is just gorgeous out. A little cool though. Looking at all my tulips that are ready to open with the sunshine we have been getting. I have a couple open and many are almost there. campinspecter might even get the lawn mowed today if his back can handle it. He tweaked it yesterday building Mom's ramp. He forgot the camera so no pics. I will get some pics on the weekend.
