Live from the 2017 MI GTG @ Backwoods Savage's

I can't believe they did this.


This is the son of chipper1 He had a great time and we can also tell he has a great future. He was interested in all the goings on and I was blessed to have him want to ride with me on the atv and tractor. Then when he found one of my hunting blinds built with firewood he really loved it. And I loved having him tag along.

 

Now it is time to tackle the twin white oak by the creek.

Yes, Scotty is in this picture. It almost looks like he is standing on that little leaner but he is on the bigger white oak that was a double but one side of it is already on the ground.

Sorry for the one blurry picture. I uploaded it before I knew it was blurry. It has most of the names of all who came to the GTG. We were very surprised when presented this Saturday evening. It was cut from one of the white oaks that Scotty Overkill cut by the creek. Thank you guys and gals as this will be cherished for many years.

As promised, I'll try to give names of the people we got in the group picture. Sadly, not all were there for the group picture though. I'll try to go left to right, front to back.

Picture 2 is Scotty Overkill's son, Mrs, TurboDiesel and Ruger, Mrs Eric VW, Eric VW, Redneck, and I apologize for the last guy with the yellow shirt. I wanted to say bocefus78 but I don't think that is him. Help!!! Then in back is TurboDiesel, Gary_602z and jdude

Now I have to get some work done.

I hope I got all of them right. It was a bit difficult with a little blur and some dark.

 

One more note. I will post videos as soon as possible. I'll also get a closer picture of the plaque the guys made for us and a picture of the FHC sign when we get it hung up in the house. If we can make it, this sign will pass on to either cwn877 or Shawn Curry yet this spring. Otherwise it might wait until a GTG that is being planned in another location. I will be proud to pass this on to another member.

 

The "@" symbol between Shawn's and Brad's name would have been for Armbru84, and yes, bocefus78 was the one wearing the yellow shirt...


Ya done great posting all the pics, Dennis- maybe next time I can help so we can add backstory captions for the different pic sets

For example, Scotty Overkill gets the tinder to catch on fire in his hand, and the immediate next picture is a fully ablaze fire in the pit!
