IMG_1436.JPG Heading home from my aunt's place and this is tediously hanging in the balance. Some 20feet over the main road.

    "Free wood!"
Half a tree trunk in a tree! Test your spidey and chainsaw skills on this widow maker. Do not call or text me, I just want it done. Take the wood in payment"

    Ummm yeahhhh.

I'd think any electrical utilities company worker that saw that would call in an arborist in a heartbeat.

Stay the f*** away from that thing. Your widow might appreciate the insurance money but do you really want to go there?

That is interesting. I wonder how long that will stay in place before nature knocks it down on to the road or those lines I see there. Something to keep a watch on.

Landslides and earth shifts happen all the time here. Roads will just wash away without much warning based on liquification of earth. Its basically just the threshold to which its not mud its not water its just not something you want to be ANYWHERE near. If you google Oso, you'll understand what I mean.

We have a few like that around us. One setting on top of a transformer for Consumers. It's been there for probably 3 years!

I talked to a We energies cutter working by me last year. He said in our area do to budget cuts they only go out if a line is interrupted or dangerous. Statistical analysis proved that the odds of the lines surviving unscathed outweighs the costs of cutting the hazards out. He also mentioned that act of God damage was insured or written off but preemptively clearing cost big bucks.

Well I wouldn't be surprised they wouldn't do it since this is likely more of a danger doing the removal than it is waiting for it to happen on its own. Being that most often when tree removals are involved more people and equipment is involved when the potential for damage goes up.
