I found this saw in my father's barn. Does anyone know anything about it? I'm am thinking of selling it, what's it worth?
I'd consider it a bow saw. I picked one up at an estate sale a few years ago for around $20. I didn't buy it to put it to work. I just wanted it to hang in the shed alongside my big 2-man cross-cut saw.
It's called a "firewood saw". I remember seeing them around when I was a kid. Just read about them recently in "The Axe Book".
Yeah those just cut good rounds if you stack pine or softwood lengths about 2-6 inches across on your sawbuck. I wanna find one for myself, something that is in good shape.
