What did you get done this weekend? The weather was great around here.
Productive weekend, but the stack didn't grow. Attended my grandson's double header Sat.
Got the wood splitter back together. No more oil leak and the wedge is tightened up. Split a couple of rounds and it is working better than it has since I owned it.
Mowed 1 acre until the deck belt broke. To add insult to injury, the muffler fell off on the way back to the shop.
All is repaired now. The parts that I figured would kick me went easy on both jobs. The parts I figured would be easy kicked me pretty hard.
Will make some more firewood through the week.

Yesterday, made dinner with the gkids, ate, then lolled around. Watched Rogue One after we ate.
Made a couple cold frames with straw bales and old windows from the stove room remod.
Waited for the gkids to leave, then waited for the rain to stop (I'm real good at this waiting stuff), then went out and spread 12 bales of straw out in the garden. Trying to stay ahead of the unwanted vegetation out there.
    Shower felt good.
Time to feed the dogs and have some dinner.

I rolled myself in the door after eating at an all you can eat Easter brunch.

I'll see what if anything I can get done today. Maybe stick pick up duty.

    Honey do list.

Yesterday we hit Lowe's and Menards looking for a tree and some flowers for the back yard and a new Oriole feeder.

Did get a couple landscape timbers for a new patio out back, but it rained off and on so besides cutting them to length they just sit there.

Today we got to church which was really nice then did out grocery shopping, yard clean up and planted the new tree.

    A nice weekend. :)

My list isn't long and impressive either, but at least some things got done.
I can relate to the "waiting stuff". Since retiring, I have perfected it.

Friday-roller Mom's lawn, trimmed an over grown hedge behind her house, rolled my lawn.
Saturday-finished clean up on my lawn, changed the oil and serviced my tractor, my RTV and my zero turn, washed the RTV.
Today- mowed my lawn, mowed mom's, pulled the snow tires off my car, and took the tractor to my building lot.
Have this week off-plan to clean up, roll, and mow my building lot, more oil changes-fiances car, generator and pressure washer, hope to wash/wax my car and truck, and of course more mowing by the end of the week.
Getting tired just thinking about this!

I got the garden tilled twice and lettuce planted.
Today the fam helped me wash and wax my truck (2 coats), plus I removed the plasti-dip from the grill chrome. I plan to use real paint this spring (I hate chrome). Then I paint pen'd my new rear tire and refreshed the front on my VTR.

Finally, when I came in for the day I gave my Wolverines a fresh layer of "mink oil".

IMG_0435.JPG I made a list of things to do and then found a saw for free at the end of a driveway on the way to the store. Got a lot of stuff done on the list but been having a blast figuring out what's wrong, with the help of the group. Parts on the way.

Hooked up the water at the cottage.
Moved the bandsaw to a a different location in the garage.
Planted a mailbox (rural route delivery).
Dragged a windblown tree top to the wood pile (maple).
Bottle jack under low corner of entrance at cottage and leveled porch out until frost comes all the way out of the ground.
Raked driveway and lawn a bit to get rid of low spots tire ruts etc.
    Church (of course).
Cooked a prime rib.....and ate it!
Slept in until 2:35 this morning.
Had only a couple puffs on a cigar all weekend.
Considered a different employer; she said "just quit".
Fixed a flat tire on a wheelbarrow.
Looked at a used car to buy (nope).
Rolled up rubber roofing from wood pile covering.

Ok, I got the big branches cut up that fell from my ash tree, raked the lawn out where I cut the tree service freebies, threw away a bunch of leaves and trash from where I split it all, picked up more sticks from the lawn, filled my gas cans up with the fresh 50:1 mix , took out the garbage to the curb, and researched how exactly to swap the TL1000R motor into my Tl1000S. I should have tracking info on that early this week.

I also researched and got an in ground E collar set up for my house, as well as for our friends house about 40 minutes away. They need an e fence even more than us. As a single mom, that we've gone on vacations with, I felt that I would install an e fence for her.

She's purchased practically the same unit as we did, except 1 collar and a little less perimeter wire. We went with the heavy duty 14 gauge wire with the better insulation as that appears to be the big issue with e fences. You get the cheap wire, and you have problems. I'm renting a gas trencher, and trenching in our system Saturday am, and then running down to our friends house and trenching, and hopefully installing the entire system in one day. I'll have helping hands. So this should go well. I'm trying to think of all the things needed like 1/2 grey PVC conduit, silicone sealant, and a few couplings to run under the driveway culvert.

I'll be getting my boat out of storage too next week. Luckily there's just ecoboost room in front of my tree service freebies to put my boat until the shed goes up.

I also did some sketches of my proposed wood shed, and thought about materials I'll need, and exactly how I'll build it. I'll start a separate thread for the shed.

Didn't take any pics of the back yard, but you can count the splits in any given stack with the light on! :)
