Strange that my wife and I were talking about this just a couple days ago. It is amazing how things change like that.

Dennis; you've got a more than a few years on me, but I agree 116.84%!!!

As I said, you've got a few years on me, but my generation has got you beat.......................we had 2 fat kids in most every class when I was in grade school. But I attribute that (in my era) to the fact that many of the newer immigrants overfed their children..............because they could!!! They didn't have the abundant access to food in the "old country" like we do here.

But nowadays; it's simply due to laziness IMHO. All young folks seem to interested in now is "exercising their thumbs" with their iPhones and electronic games.

I've been traveling a lot the last 2 years for work and such. I spend a lot of time in airports lounging/waiting/killing time waiting for my flight to and fro. If'n what I see walking around airports around the country is a TRUE representation of our society as a whole....................I would have to say that we're doomed!!! I'd estimate that 65% of the folks I see in airports are OBESE!!!!!

I actually had a flight about 6 months ago, that the person next to me was so large, that I couldn't lower MY seat back tray table because his belly was in the way!!!!

I was on a flight a couple of years ago, the very large lady next to me was very upset because her husband was sitting 2 rows in front of us. I told her I was more than happy trading seats with him. She was very happy and so was I, I wonder how her husband felt? :D

It's so true-I was probably 20 lbs overweight in HS-and I was the "fat kid". I weighed around 200 lbs as a senior, probably should have weighed about 180 or so. I also was 2 way starter on the football team.
Today, in my Junior High, I have 10-15 boys that are up around 200 lbs, and they are more like 40-50lbs overweight.

Well, I'm fat but when I look at most folks, it doesn't seem so much so. For sure I've put on a lot of pounds over this past winter simply because I still like to eat but could not do much physical work. Spent too much time on my backside so am up to 200 lb or thereabouts; probably a couple lb less but still put on at least 10 lb since December. Hope to trim back down as the weather allows more outdoor work plus I gave in and am taking more pain medication so that I can do something rather than just sit or lay. Now if the rain will stop so I can get busy again...

I'm so fat it's embarrassing .... 418 at last count. They say my arthritis meds make me hungry...... I'm ALWAYS hungry..... the dog looks nervous when I look at him when holding a bottle of ketchup. I'm always moving, not lazy. About ready to blow out my knees. So if anyone has any tips I will graciously listen.

I try to get a gallon of water down a day. On my feet all day, not getting my heart rate up walking though. I'm a big guy 6'4 but my 21 year old kid eats way more than me and he's skinny.
I'm going to start tattooing kitchen chairs on my forearm.
