very very good price on the hamers too.. burned them this winter... extremly hot.. down side: lot of ash..
That must have been the good ole days. I have been burning pellets since fall 2008 and don't recall ever paying that little for them, could be mis-remembering though.
This was likely 2006-2007 time frame when I started looking into pellets and it was at a local building supply place that only carried NEWP because they were among the better ones. By the time I bought, I think 160-200 ish was the norm for big box to the good stuff.
Great to see that most of you have quite a nice variety to choose from as well as a price span Wish we had a dealer or two around here that would carry some DECENT variety. Being a location with waterway and rail access, not to mention main arteries running through here I just don't get why we don't get a better selection. I'm going to guess because the merchants want to charge us an arm and a leg ($6.00+ per bag) for something not worth $5 because people that think "a pellet is a pellet" will buy the crap! Anywho...I DID finally after 6 weeks of patience and dealing get my ton of Hamer's at the February sale price of $215 Wish I had room for more than a ton...I'd have stocked up real good
I'm that way 24/7 anymore I had the "sticks" aka shards in the bags of "Hardwood Heat" aka Hamer's I got from Farmers & Planters/Southern States. Todd was awesome to deal with!
He really is...I'd send folks his way in a heartbeat. Super to deal with and WANTS to know if there is a problem. He wasn't the hold up...it was "miscommunication" on the local end
Drove by NEWP in my neck of the woods the other day . They've never had more than a few hundred ton stored outside of the warehouse . Saw these 2 piles and another off to side of building ? Their price was around $200 all winter . Wonder what it will be with this kinda inventory.
