Sounds like your folks got just a wee bit more than I did. Ended up with almost another 2 overnight. Didn't lose power here either. Do they burn wood also?

 

Yep, they still have the indoor wood boiler that's tied into the hydronic system that the LP boiler is on.

That system kinda needs electricity to run the circulating pumps.

A UPS backup supply would get their jotul LP stove upstairs fully functional even in power outages.

 

A stop out to the farm was a nice break in a long day.

 

Any fishing in those streams?

 

No...I see a few minnows and crawdads though. A few ducks flew over head also.

 

I'm just about tired. Worked. Cooked dinner. Took the kids to baseball practice. Came home and finished the electrical except for what I can't get to until a wall comes down then got a bunch more insulation hung.

Do it all over again tomorrow. I might have things sealed up enough to get that wall down Saturday.

How about hitching up a few goats in those thickets. I hear they will strip the under growth

 

We had a real warm day. First really warm day this year. Greenhouse was reading 100F even with the door open and the fan running. More ventilation on order. Son did a real good job on the new insulation!

 

Took a short 20 min drive today and walked on the walking bridge (former railroad truss bridge crossing the Ohio River connecting Louisville Kentucky, and Jeffersonville, Indiana). The sunset was spectacular today

I'm going to move some more firewood in today, We want to have that firewood off the covered porch now that the nice, warmer temperatures are coming. Get it swept off and arrange the furniture.

Then try to cut a few more stumps down out in front of the barn and in the pasture. Should be quite a workout. The firewood has to go down in the basement to be burned this shoulder season. It will be a LOT of trips. But, I'll put some music on my I-phone so it will travel with me, set a decent pace and get it done.

 

They rent goats by me. They set up temporary fencing and everything needed is supplied by them. Amazing what they will eat, stuff you can't walk through will be converted to poop.
