Well, new to me anyway. Wanted to test these for a while now. Not much time left in this burning season, so better get burning I suppose...

Be careful about what you post. You may have a moderator who lives in your same state and might be lookin for a nice "discounted" load of pellets .

had a chat with the Energex rep this afternoon. There is a new 100% softwood coming out of the CA facility. I'm promised a couple of samples later in the month.

Energex offered a 100% softwood product in the past...allegedly. It was a couple seasons ago, and short lived. Don't think anyone ever saw them, pretty sure the product never made it past the advertising stage, lol.

he also talked about the stove manufacturers requiring PFI certified fuel or you will void the warranty. anyone with a new stove see that in their paperwork?

kinda ridiculous. What about multifuel stoves? Harman's can burn up to 50% corn......does that corn also have to carry the PFI logo?
I havent seen anything like this in any instructions, but then again, I dont sell all stoves. To my untrusting self, this sounds more like a ploy by the pellet co's to scare folks into looking for that logo on the bag. It certainly isn't free to have to logo, what with inspections and testing being paid for by the pellet co. I am guessing Energex IS a PFI certified company......
While different pellets burn differently, some with more heat, less heat, some with more ash or less ash, it shouldnt make or break you depending upon the pellet youre burning. How might the fact that a non-PFI certified pellet void the warranty?
Seems to me that this is some kinda scare tactic to get folks to actually look for the PFI logo.
Scare tactics....dont like them, and puts into question credibility.
