First mowing of the season completed by my wife... I went ahead of her and knocked down the really high spots (2/3 of the yard  ) with the weed machine.
    Looks much betterer

I took my son out trout fishing in a local river on conservation land. The temp was 45 and a stiff wind. It was difficult to fly fish with the wind pushing at us. We ended up taking a short hike to look for animal activity.

At the edge of the wetlands, there are two beaver lodges and they are really doing a number on the mature oaks.

In this area we counted 16 trees chewed, about half were dropped. I picked two ticks off myself. We stayed on the main trails but there was some low growth that I am sure I picked them up from.

On the warpath around here today. Decent weather this weekend so loading up all the junk mowers and other equipment that needs to go maintain that giant lawn in the sky.

Had a couple local kids that took every lawn tractor I had that still had wheels and a man who left me a trailer to load with scrap iron. It's so nice to get the junk gone! Still have a lot to go but definite progress!

I took my son into town for a walk along the river. The water is moving pretty fast.

We walked along the river on the high and low parts of the banks.

    It was a good walk.

Then we stopped into a movie rental place and rented Rogue One.

Might be for the better Larry. We went for the first time in over a decade in ~ 2004, it was absolutely bonkers and overwhelming. People everywhere, dodging unruly kids, and OMG the sound in the theater was louder than a rock concert. Besides, you can pause at home for a potty break:)

Long day. Easter egg hunt/party from 9 to 11 and baseball from 11:00 to 6:00. Mowed the yard then worked on the house until 10.

we took my daughter to an easter egg hunt yesterday at a large animal rescue farm where my wife has been taking the puppy for training. It was a complete cluster F. They clearly weren't expecting that many people, and didnt have enough eggs. The line to get into the area was massive, and as we were getting to the front of it I could see they didnt have enough eggs for the kids that were already in there before they made the announcement.

We took her home and she had her own hunt in the backyard. Quite the happy little camper at that point, and she had to really hunt for them, not just laying in a small fenced in area.

Got up early and went for a walk. Windy but dry out. Took a sea cruise over to Mom's. campinspecter made a start on her level access project. We took the cement mixer over and campinspecter got the first forms ready for concrete for the ramp pads. Came home early so we could watch curling this afternoon. Also got taken out for lunch and instead of putting my head down on the computer desk and having a nap, I should be doing some bookkeeping.

Just had a chance meeting with a great man, Ron, who's one of the best fellas I know and am privileged to call a friend and brother! My folks live down the road from his summer home...years ago my dad and I did some restoration work on that beautiful property and Ron and I became fast friends! Y'all, if we could only get him to join FHC?! A perfect fit, for sure!
He just built a killer fire pit....
Here we are 30 minutes ago, (first time he got to meet my wife, too)-
