We see the same coming in from some of our vendors at work. Huge boxes fr one little item.

Best one was when a tractor trailer showed up with a single box that was about 18" square. LMAO-it looked so lonely in that 48' trailer

Well G if we have to use aftermarket stuff we use mostly Napa because they are close and deliver stuff rather quickly and we need stuff quickly. We specify ultra premium for all medium duty trucks (1 ton and up) We also will quote different part prices on the cars, but most folks today are shopping price, not quality. Almost all part jobbers have 2-3 levels of quality, (good, better. best) If at all possible we will use OE parts, but sometimes price and time restraints won't allow it, it almost always takes hours longer to get the OE parts to the shop. We also will use Advanced and Auto Zone when we have to, but almost always when price over quality is the issue. I will use Napa Gold or Wix filters on our cars. Heavy Duty trucks (over the road tractors , dump trucks, oil delivery and big straight trucks get OE stuff almost exclusively. I did use Napa Ultra premium on my 08 1500 4x4 Silverado and had mixed results. The front brakes are still working well after almost 2 years, brakes smoothly and quietly. The rear shoes did not fit well and where noisy. Next time I will get OE parts.
I may have used Beck Arnley stuff on your Ridgeline. We will buy from a local import store in Poughkeepsie and many times they offer Beck Arnley and we have had good luck with them. And when talking brake performance be sure everything is clean, that the slides are lubed and sliding. Use the new pad insulators and clean behind them well. Be sure the pads slide on the stainless insulators easily. And of course be sure the caliper piston moves in smoothly. If any of this doesn't happen and the rotor/pad heats up it will warp and brake performance will suffer.

Bottom line .......Its tough to get good parts. And even good parts will fail if not installed properly of if cause of original failure is not diagnosed and repaired.

Son is doing well. No restrictions and he is semi back to work. Finally

    Doggy

    Bingo-

Another question for those working on vehicles. Its new tire time. The Ridgeline is 8 years old and 159K miles on it. How long do he TPMS last (battery) and should I just have them replaced now while the tires are broken down instead of possibly needing them replaced later costing more labor?

Happy to see your son is progressing nicely. He must be thrilled to get back to work even if part time.
