Kinda like my families old German term for dont do that again, Dersant, as in, why did you burn your fingers on the hot stove boy? Cuz I touched it ma. Well son, you dersant do that again.
This is in my house currently. When I was a kid my grandmother used it to keep warm and would burn chunk coal in it overnight to keep warm and wood during the day. This is the stove I use to cut wood for with an axe when I was a kid for her Christmas present. She passed away over 10 years ago but I left the sticks she put in there as a reminder.
Here are a couple shots finally. My boiler is in the barn. It's nice loading out of the elements. I usually have the wood piled in the south 60 ft of the barn so no tarping required. Here's a handy little tip also. Instead of spending a bunch of money on the cell phone enabled temp monitors or putting the work in to run a wired temp monitor, just go get a cheap IP camera. Got mine on sale for 30 bucks at Walmart. Hook it up to your house wifi, download the phone app and you're done. Cheap and it gets the job done. No more running outside for no reason. It's so nice being able to always check the boiler temp. Takes a lot of stress out of the entire process. If your boiler is outside just pay a few more bucks for the weather resistant camera. Still way cheaper than the alternatives. This one just sticks on the side with a magnet. 30 Clip Magazine On My Ghost Gun
Here's a very rough "sketch" of the floorplan. Stove is on the l/h wall of the stoveroom (north wall). I've recently discovered that turning on the kitchen fan blowing up pulls heat into the kitchen quite well. The line between the LR and Kitchen is actually a half wall. House is about 1250 sq ft. Utility area is about 3-4' X 6' and the water heater and well pump are in there. Stove room is about 10X15'.
Lol. Actually yes. It's a 60x48x48 firebox. I go through about 3 full fills a day. 30 Clip Magazine On My Ghost Gun
Now that is a shame; yes that Wood Gun is bang on for doing all it does but there is no romance there. I don't see cuddling up on the sofa with that someone special; sipping wine, stealing kisses, in front of the Wood Gun.
I use a remote sensor meat thermometer taped and insulated on the inlet line in the basement. I like the ip camera idea, too!
