It took me a a little bit to get use to that rocker pedal but you will like it. My neighbor has one and I have used it several times. Very slick.

Congratulations, Dennis!! That will be a big help to you!!

I'm blessed that my uncle has a backhoe. I help him some with the maintenance on it and I get to use it some... I try not to over do it but that thing is quite useful!!

    Looking forward to the pics...

Although I have not been able to use it much, it appears backing up will work best by lifting the toe rather than pushing down with the heel. I'll soon find out.

It always amazes me that they make a big deal out of 0% financing but then give you dollars off if you pay cash. One could just drop the price of the tractor and then say it will only cost you X dollars to finance. Same thing so there really is no 0% financing in my book. Besides, I can't afford to have payments.

We want a backhoe but decided that has to wait another year. We learned a long time ago that the the finances are a bottomless pit only in the government.

Have never tried using toes to get reverse. I'll have to check it out. Currently, I use the forward pedal just like a gas pedal in a vehicle with my heel on floorboard. Drop toe to floorboard and pick up heel and push down rear pedal. My method may not be viable for you...saw something about a leg problem previous posting.

Will you be servicing it yourself?

    Yes.

I tried with the heel but found that simply lifting the toe seemed to work better but will be checking it more when the tractor is delivered.

Barcroftb I did not get the dray moved yet. Figured I'd wait to play with that with the tractor. I hope to get it tomorrow or Saturday but it may be Monday. Time will tell on that one.

Yes, using the toe for reverse worked very well when I tested one. The older ones on my buddies farm that used to use the only had the heal as an option and it wasn't very comfortable. I have them side by side now and find I get confused as to what pedal my foot is over sometimes. None of them are bad systems by any stretch of the imagination I just found the toe method to be the best. Mind you it's the one I have used the least so I might not have a valid opinion:).

Have fun getting some work done when you get it:)

I got my CUT three or four years after my dad died and suddenly I was taking care of three properties/homes. Wished I had bought it ten years sooner and not just 'thought about it and tire kicked.

Backwoods Savage congratulations on your new tractor. I know you'll get a lot of use out of it. I bought a used Ford 1920, built in 1989, in the spring of 2008. My wife thought I was crazy but I insisted. Came with a subframe mounted backhoe and loader. I think your new tractor is similar in size and horsepower. I don't know how I got along without it. I use the loader quite a bit and after 5 years of use, converted it to quick attach style.

The first forks I used were the type mounted to the bucket with straps. They worked fine but lift weight was limited cause they were mounted 2 ft forward of lift arms.

Converted bucket to quick attach and bought forks from palletforks.com.
They also sell on eBay with no tax free shipping. Forks have held up well over the years
This is the one I bought Titan 42" Pallet Fork Attachment Tractor Kubota Holland Skid Steer Quick Attach

This tractor is like having a whole workcrew at my disposal. For managing wood it's just great. Start gathering wood pallets for storing or moving split wood. I don't have all my wood on pallets. But when I split it goes directly onto a pallet placed to my right or left from where I'm sitting ( on a perfectly shaped log not milkcrate). I can then move heavy wet wood away from splitting area with forks. No big pile of splits to stock later. Many times I'll move the pallet of wood and off load it into a stack.

When I do this I use a full pallets of wood like bookends and fill between them with loose splits unloaded from a couple of pallets used just to transport wood to stacking area .
I use my forks more than backhoe or bucket. Backhoe rarely comes off since it's a great Counterweight for heavy load on forks.
Advice to you is get forks as soon as possible. I get mine with free shipping the door.

I'll post a link and pic of forks and some pics for all.

I keep discovering new uses for my tractor and I'm sure you will too!
I'm 67 now and my brain doesn't really know it. When I do too much it's my body that gives me a reality check. It takes a lot longer to recover from hard work.
I always think of the tractor and if it can help me with any task at hand, especially lifting and pulling.
I place all kinds of stuff on pallets. Bricks, firewood, cobblestones, lumber etc. It's so easy to move around

Make sure the camera batteries are charged up, congrats.

You'll like it so much that you'll make work for the tractor.

I will second on finding uses for it! I had to haul a generator from home to my step moms because she was out of power. I was beating my head on scheduling my son to come help me load it in the back of the pickup when it finally dawn on me that I had a tractor with a loader on it!:headbang::headbang: Threw a chain on the generator and eazy peazy!

Not sure if you have a DPF system on it that re-gens but most of them recommend running at a higher rpm rather then lugging it.
