Spring break this week, and wife's birthday today. So when I woke up at 6, I got up and made breakfast. Afterwards, we sat and chatted over a couple cups of coffee, then I went and took care of some business and realized I had a pretty rockin' headache. I've been sorta sick and sinusy all week, so I popped a couple sudafeds and was going to lay down for a minute when the CO alarm went off

So, it's 100% wood and electric heat until the plumbing and heating guy comes tomorrow with a good CO detector. The local FD here is understaffed and underfunded, and their detector is about as advanced as the Kidde I have on the wall.

Feeling like it's been a lucky day.

The possum's back wandering around back. Just let the girls out and saw new tracks in the snow. Might be "staying" under the back deck.

We have one around here too Stinny. We don't see them very much. My wife and daughter saw it the other night on the way down to the barn. I saw one, probably the same, about 300 feet down our road the other night while making a run into town in the truck.

Whoever wired this house was a special kind of stupid. Everything has to be redone.

They seemed to think running 10/3 from the box then dividing it into 2 circuits by sharing the neutral was cool...Because they've done it everywhere.

Still alive. Taking it mega chill.

Depending on how I feel tomorrow morning, I may call in. I have to go to chiraq with my boss on Thursday. So if it's a choice between working Wednesday or Thursday, I'll work Thursday as that's very important. Maybe I'll see lukem in Chicago. ;)

OMG - that CO is nothing to mess around with. Glad you had the detector and it is in working order!

True that. How many times this time of year do we all have those same symptoms and not think about it any further than that? The summer comes along, and the symptoms go away....

    Good catch.

Back to work after five off in a row. Think I'm heading to the log home with a punch list (and a broom) in my hand today. Have one more gas line to run for a gas grill-theres always add ons, right?

Ice should be breaking up any day now, had a little wind yesterday but no open spots so the ice didn't move around at all.

After work, I may put in an order for the wood lathe. Garage workshop has morphed into a non-workshop, so I'm turning the garage into a workshop! There may be a lean to addition against the garage to create some nice outdoor storage this summer and a little room for the wood shop this coming winter.

Hope everyone has a safe day.

Looks like I'll be doing much of nothing most of the day. Our littlest is staying home with a belly ache. :picard:

I'll be staying away from her. Oh. Wait. I hugged her three times last night before she went to bed. They were worth it though!

I think I would get into trouble hugging everyone who came through the office door today. Thanks for letting us know though. I will make sure campinspecter gets a hug or two today.

The guys were here this morning and gave me my full one hour service call with their CO detector. And found nothing, 0-1 ppm, with furnace, water heater, and dryer all running. It started to creep up with the oven and all four burners going, which is what I was doing yesterday. With no range hood. Got up to 4-6 ppm around the range in just a few minutes. I had bacon in the oven, then kept the oven on low to keep the pancakes warm, and had all four burners going with the monster griddle on top. I was a cooking fool for probably an hour and a half.

I probably should point out that this is a vacation home, not our primary residence. What I did was nothing unusual, except that we don't spend much time here in the winter. Usually have a few windows and doors open when doing some heavy duty cooking.

Good to know all my appliances are in safe working order, anyway.

And when they crawl in bed with us at night and wake up sleeping face to face breathing eachothers breath. I hope you don't get it.

I feel so much better today. First thing in the am I knew I was going to be better than I was the last 2 days. I made it through the whole day, barely any issues.

As soon as my wife got home today I talked with her for a few minutes and told her I was going outside on a walk/run. I was inside all day with the little one who was not feeling good. Took my time and did a seven mile walk/run. I don't like being cooped up inside when the temperatures are warmer. Ground is too wet to do much on the property and isn't going to be better the next few days. The walk was great!

This vid of the cat loving on that TP roll caught my eye and a memory.

I'm not a cat person, it's my wifes cat. An orange marmalade calico.
One day walking by our 2nd for bathroom I see our (her) cat doing the same thing
with a roll of TP on the floor. I yelled to my wife "your cat is eating a roll of
quilted northern", she just laughed. I'm thinking, thats chits expensive.
