    I was just getting close to ice out in my yard, and we were starting to talk about having our first big fire....but now my damm firepit is buried in snow again!

    If the bottoms of your shoes begin to smoke, ya might be a bit too close to the fyre, heheh.

    I love the smell of an outside wood fire. When I sit by it, I feel warm and relaxed. My dogs do the same thing.
    I have a fire pit, but that is such a project to use. Been thinking about a chiminea. there are metal and ceramic ones. Anyone want to comment on these?

    That looks like an operator issue. I am thinking they used lighter fluid and spill it all over everything.

    I have never regretted my metal fire pit/chiminea. It even weathered a big branch falling on top of it in a storm last summer. I don't know that a ceramic one would take the wind abuse we contend with here.
