True that Jay and then you have to decide is it really worth the extra $$ as your main stay pellet or do you just treat yourself and the stove once in a while the same way I approach Beer, Blue Smoothie Fan here it fits my budget as an every day Beer , but I love many of the Imports and Craft Brews , but couldn't drink them every day . I'd need a second and a third job for my consumption rate
Impressed completely with everything, little to no fines, impressive heat, very very low ash output. While it was not a cold night I did have the stove running on a low setting but the heat output is certainly above normal and the house was very warm this morning. I can certainly see why people prefer these beyond anything and it seems Northern Warmth delivered a nice product. Don't feel at $329 I was robbed as it is a great product, forgot to mention it burned extremely clean as well. Overall I am satisfied, whether or not I could afford them as a main pellet is another story, certainly wish I could that's for sure !
Luneyburg, You're welcome. I can not find the Spruce Pointe for sale on Pellets Direct. Probably Uxbridge, MA is closer to you, than Barrington, NH.
Packsaddle ? Just the response I knew I was going to hear Haaa and I know it to be true Slv ! I am sure they are amazing no doubt if they are better than these NW I think I might be persuaded to at least try some and I am sure they are.
If you can get a hold of some Pack's, Olympus or Bear Mountain.....give those a whirl....The old Blazer were pretty amazing too (at least what I have) not sure what the new stuff will be like....might even be old stock, I don't know.
So you're saying Blazers are better than NW? I think I read on here that some people were saying the Blazers weren't 100% DF. And the Blazer website didn't claim to be 100% either. So it surprises me to hear you say they're better than NW, especially since I still have a ton and a half in the stash.
PD pulled the Spruce Pointes off the website yesterday. Based on the price they were selling at, suspect they sold out and probably won't be getting more in the near future, otherwise they would have moved them down to the bottom of the page with "currently sold out" like they did with the sets.
possibly clearing out old winter stock? I don't sell SP's, so I cant comment on going forward if their distribution might have changed in New England after a second year of somewhat poor sales. It isn't inconceivable that there will be pellet manufacturers who pull out of the once lucrative New England pellet market due to sagging sales, or the lack of ability to actually make money in New England. Again, I dont sell them, just spitballin' it here.....
That's my suspicion - just blowing out the little inventory left on hand at the end of the season. Man I hope not, that would be awful.
No, not necessarily better but by my eye less ash volume. Correct, not 100% DF but I'm not sure what the new ones will be....maybe old stock? I don't know. Like I said, not necessarily saying that BUT imo they (Pinnacle) are not the top shelf Firs...if Mr. Warm is keeping it real, I believe he would say the same.
Ask ttdberg about the EZBB I swapped with him...they could have been mistaken for DF's.....no joke. Not sure if the current stuff is but the batch I have is crazy low ash for a blend.
Their name has come up here before with good pricing. I think it was for Okies or some other good pellet. They must dump em at this time of year to make space?
