While driving for work i saw linemen taking down a bunch of trees. Easy grab today, had the 372 on the truck, so quick bucked this birch - no rot and loaded up. Got a solid half cords worth. These rounds are pretty big.
Thanks! We're in the 5"- 10" range, but close to the 3"- 6" range, so i figure around 6". Ill need to see if Bernie has anything out there. I love burning birch! Take away all the pine, birch is 90% of the area. What a change from living in hardwood Pa, where birch is a delicate house ornamental tree.
Nice catch. We don't get birch down here in Kentucky. But I know about it because my wife is from Columbia County, NY and her family burns a lot of it. I sneek some home every now and again. to an easy load!
I've got one down off the field that is massive. Its a widow maker so mother nature will have to handle it first.
And no offense, you can have it. I'm glad we are nearly down to bare ground again. We should get mostly rain and I'm happy with that, we still need to bring the reservoirs back up
Last storm we got last week dumped more than they thought and the roads were slick with ice under the snow. Hopefully they get out early to sand. I like it!
bogydave I think with your stacks, you're likely a national sponsor for that wood on its own! Well done Well Seasoned. So nice and clean!
