I'm so sorry. Our cat died 2 years ago and I still miss him. I like cats, they like company but don't mind being alone.

Sorry for your loss Sask. RIP Sam.

I have an aging kitty. She is either 16 or 17 now. Still fairly verile, but I don't think she has but a year or two left. I was driving down a back country road one night and seen her eating on some sort of roadkill as just a wee kitten who had likely been dumped. When I stopped the truck and got out, she ran into the berm. I let out a "kitty kitty kitty" and she came running...right up my leg and up onto my arm! She rode home on my shoulders and has been with me ever since. I am not looking forward to her leaving me. I am a terrible softy when it comes to my pets...even other folks'. I love on em anytime I'm around them. Animals are better people than most people are.

Up until a few years ago, this is how she would greet me when I came home at night. Wait on the porch and then hop up in the truck as soon as I'd open the door. She doesn't go out much these days. Her name is Timber.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I hope heaven is shared with our critters. If it is, I and many others will have a HUGE Joyous family reunion!

Animals are better than most people!

I always thought to myself how I was crazy for having such a connection to a CAT. It's just a cat I don't even like cats all that much!

I get angry with people who don't respect animals, but then when I think about it I feel really sorry for those who lack the ability to see how great critters are.

Best I can tell, she is a "Tabico". I don't see too many around here marked like her. Funny story about that... On the night I found her, I came home and was trying to get a bowl of milk and some kind of food for her to eat. I sat her down and turned around for a moment, and when I turned back around she was "gone". I became frantic looking all over the place, under stuff for her. She was just a tiny thing. Turns out she had laid down on my hunting coat, which was camouflaged and she blended right in. The camouflage pattern was called Realtree Advantage Timber. That is how she got her name. :)

Have had cats & dogs in the house my entire life. Various breeds, numbers and sizes. I never could understand people's hatred of cats? I understand if you are allergic, but most people whom dislike felines don't really have a valid answer when you ask why. I think some folks think it's not "manly" to care for a cat? Insecurities or something?

I'm a little late to this thread, but so sorry for your loss. You gave that cat the gift of life and love, he probably would not have lived as long without you. They do stay in our hearts forever, I know because I have had to say goodbye to four of my best little friends over the years.
I think you gave him a wonderful sendoff.
