We went out to look at a couple of campsites we used to go to. One was inaccessible because the river was too high and the parking lot of the other had lots of water but the dogs had fun running around in the sand at the river and the lake. This is the approach to the one campsite as it looked yesterday. This is what it looks like in the summer time. The river was running quite fast this time. The second site was also battling lots of water but the lake was gorgeous. Campsites and firepits were under water.
The parking lot at the second site could have been used to wash the truck but we didn't go that route. The dogs had a good run at both places. The truck still had to travel gravel roads to get home so today campinspecter is out washing it.
The salmon berry bushes are budding but it is still cold. Skunk cabbage is starting to show up in places so it won't be long before everything comes up. I know my tulip bulbs are getting big and I have 5 daffodils blooming.
And we're happy to start seeing a little bit of green on lilac and forsythia here. Should start getting better now though as 50's forecast for all week.
My blueberries are budding, the raspberries have new canes coming up, baby bigleaf maples are sprouting everywhere, and I saw skunk cabbage blooming while out cutting today. I need to cut my grass but can't because it's so wet.
Same here, I just read a post from Kansas where the guys grass is greening up nicely! Hang in there, our time will come!
We need grass cutting here as well but like you, it is way too wet. Doesn't look like we are going to get a dry spell any time soon.
