So my neighbor two doors down apparently is getting a pool put in for this summer. Early Sat morning I hear the saw ripping out back. He cleared all the trees behind his fence line (actually not his property) so no debris would fall into his new pool. Anyways they dropped about 4-6 BIG A$$ Oak trees. An my way out in the AM I stopped by asked the guys you mind if take some rounds they were putting by the curb. Help your self buddy...........Loaded up! Later on as they were bucking some of these big boys I walked down and said hey man you can leave that tree there if you want I'll take it. He said were leaving it all, help yourself............! The owner later came down and said help yourself take what you want it's staying there :bug::hair::thumbs:.

Here's a little project I finished up! As posted prior I had 4 dead tree's dropped for me few weeks ago. They left big ole stump as all 4 of them were growing out from same stump. So I just chipped away at it and got er down low as I could for now. Maybe get a stump grinder eventually! Found a few big beetles that had done the damage to this tree over the years....! I'll tell ya, what a difference a sharp chain makes........After battling the stump I stopped sharpened the chain, big difference, like butter! Definite saw issues but I'll save that for proper forum. IMG_20170326_141034744.jpg IMG_20170326_143457574.jpg IMG_20170326_145148040.jpg

I'm wondering why he thought it was ok to cut down trees on another person's property.

It's a along story from what I hear and I am new to the neighborhood. But something like the lot behind his home someone in Calif owns it. He's been trying to contact her for years to buy it but she never returns his phone calls. He tried to call her again to get the ok to take some trees down but she don't get back to him. He's been after her for years trying to buy that lot. Lot behind my house was included with sale price, lucky me.....!

Maybe it's just me, but it still doesn't give the go ahead to cut down her trees.
Kinda' like, "well, no one answered the door, so I broke in" kinda thing.
I wonder if she died, and someone else in the family now owns it?
    Doesn't matter, he's still wrong.
Not ranting on you, just in general. I'll stop now.:headbang:

No worries I understand and agree. My neighbor and I both thought same thing. Funny thing is the trees didn't need to come down all they needed was to be trimmed back a little. It actually opened everything up and we can see the road now which I hate and the traffic ugh!!

$3,000.00 + per tree cut down on someone else's property here.

One of my new neighbors started "cleaning up" my property and started cutting down trees. Because "they paid a lot of money for their new home and deserved a nice view." Cops were there within 5 minutes of the chain saw running and a cease and desist was received by constable three days later. F*ck with me, bring it on.

Well the fault would fall on that dude who fell the trees not you. If I were you, I would get get the loads out quick. It isn't right that the neighbor did that but oftentimes if you can't get in contact with the property owner and trees are encroaching property, there can be statutes that allow trees to be removed for the safety of property.
No wonder he says he's gonna leave them there, he wants it to become someone elses problem.....

Welcome to the club, its hard to say no to a bunch of logs that are just free but hey even I gotta slow down and absorb the blow. Some of this stuff is not cut to size or split.

For all I know I may not have whole story so who really knows thats what I was told by another neighbor.

It really is hard walking away from wood like that. I see it sitting out my patio window it's like torture I want it all. My wife would put me in therapy!!

    Understood.
im sensitive to this exact topic of cutting without permission. I have a new neighbor on the backside of our property who wants shade gone for a solar array he was parking next to prime forest. As a for profit operation, I'm very leary.
He's been very good thus far.

Was it a chestnut oak? Its one of my favorite oaks to cut, split and burn. It cures fast and burns well.

I wouldn't be able to sleep . I'd take a sick day to grab all I could. I'd be tempte to roll them real quiet like into my car all night long hoping not to wake anybody up and pizzing them off .

A contracted tree service cut some leaners away from the power lines last week and they left the trunks chewing up the branches. I put off asking the guy across the street if I could have them until the next day and they were gone the next afternoon. He wasn't too happy as he wanted them himself.
