Its warmed up to 1c in the sun and Ive got a load of pine warming the house. Hope to spend the day outside today. Garage wood reserve is empty so Ill load it up for another week or twos worth of burning. Still a few feet of snow in the yard. This was taken just before dark two days ago. Spring time in the mountains!
Bouncing around the freezing mark here with rain and/or sleet falling. Boxelder and something unidentified that was very dead from behind a sandwich shop rolling in the boiler. I think it's more boxelder, but no red in the center, no bark, and no other identifying marks. It burns, so I like it.
Maybe we could start some sort of pool and everyone have a stab at guessing it?? Zap, you just keep posting every time you use it...you're staying the course of the thread topic after all! Don't mind reading it at all!
47 and we've had plenty of rain, a cool 64 inside the house which feels chilly! I'll probably build a fire tonight after work..kicked on the profane a minute ago,,for the daughters.
About 28 on the back porch this morning. It's warming quickly though. Ash and a big split of Maple in the Wood Gun.
32° this morning headed up to 36°. We have freezing rain and sleet on and off. Will put a few splits of birch in shortly. In the mood for cherry pie for some reason.
Yes, I was just wondering if you were up to the axles in mud. I'll be making my ice busting run on the driveway this afternoon when the rain eases up.
Nope. Staying out of the mess this time. I think it will be a while before I do much with the tractor. Unfortunately.
Tractor wise, I won't be doing much either but once Thursday rolls around I'll be checking the lane that runs back to the woods and just maybe it will have lost enough snow that the rhino can get back in. Since I'm always doing trail work, I won't be taking the tractor back in until it dries up some.
We still have snow here, but with these temps and rain it won't be long now until its all gone. The spoiled ones don't mind the shower.
I also recently cut some punky willow I'm going to drop off in thewoodlands driveway! Cuz he my friend.
