    I got lucky when we moved in here. Had water the first spring. Only needed to pitch the grade and add a ditch drain/dry well in the back yard area to keep the water out. We get a weaper here and there, But not much more than a damp floor now. Suck it up with the shop vac.

    Usually add the gutter extender hoses right around this time to get the water farther away from the foundation. That usually keeps it from weapin in the few cracks. Still keep stuff propped up off the floor JIC. Specially da pellets!!

    Yep, freezing rain predicted for the commute - lovely :doh:. As for the drought, a lot better than it was but we will still need those spring rains! I'm in the moderate area now and the swamp next door has actually had water flowing the last couple of weeks

    drought as of 3-23-17.JPG

    Looks like we are in for a mess tomorrow morning. Doesn't look good for the kids going to school or for me going to Lewiston for my VA group meeting.

    You need to give yourself the gift of some down time - lazing around and sleep!

    Glad your youngest got to Japan okay and is settling in. The oldest will remember the effort you put into getting her to the concert!

    I've got about 8" of super packed snow in the yard. and although the air temp was 40* today, most of the paths still have snow on them from yesterday. At this rate, I won't have the bike out of storage until mid-April; the latest since I moved here in November 2013 :hair:.

    came home one day in February to the first house i bought (76) to find 2 FEET of water in the basement! Then wife said 'i think there is water in the basement' :doh: We had had a couple feet of snow followed by a thaw and rain. Well that caused the ground near the house to thaw and become a conduit for the water to enter.
    sump pumped it for several days to dry out...... got to thinking how to fix it??????????????

    SOLD !!!!!!!!!!! see ya!!!!!!!!!!:thumbs::thumbs:

    that house had a salt filter thing for the water as well. no likey those either! ate a few hundred pounds of salt a year. crappy water.

    Grandson here now, he is such a happy lil dude. Son just at a fajita, with really shredded chicken, so things are good right now. Trying to get the lil one to do his turn over trick but all he wants to do is watch the basketball game and coo at grandma.

    My aunt had water in her basement for years and years. She finally had it and got a B dry system installed and in the 5-6 years she lived in that house not an ounce of water entered that basement. Amazing. Wasn't cheap by any means but she was happy and that's all that mattered.

    Doggy

    I'm still playing that gain. Sump pump didn't come on Friday night until it was well above the top of the sump. So I've been chasing wet floors all weekend in addition to hauling a ton of pellets home and lugging them into the basement. I'm worn out. I'm too old for this chit.

    Nice sunny day here so we ventured out to visit a few of the sugar shacks on maple Weekend in Maine and NH

    Came home with the next years stash of Dark Maple Syrup from one of our favorite boilers-I think we got there after church got out or something cause man was it crowded.

    Hmmm, I thought we bought 2 whoopie pies :whistle:
