My return trip from Polar Bear came with a load of pellets, 42 Spuce Pointes, 5 LG Maximums and 1 Comfort.
Tried a test on the Maximum but the heat was on the low side? 142*F
I will try again after I returned from my 2 night St-Patricks Ottawa trip:D

ivanhoe I love seeing all these brands you pick up. You have tested a lot of different products lately. Can you say which ones you would rate the best so far, say top three or five - in terms of best heat output and least ash? Just curious to know. Planning to make a run to the pellet store this weekend to pick up a variety pack of brands we haven't tried before. Could be swayed by your findings here.

    Ashes wasn't accounted for.
Heat =Logik-ê, Cubex, Spruce Pointe, Lacretes , McFeeters blend, Granulco Hwd or Swd.
    In that order.
Will have to retry LG, Eagle Valley, Okies & LG Maximum.

Great, thanks for that. OK, Cubex, Spruce Pointes and LaCretes I have - and agree, all good stuff. McFeeters and Granulco are not available around here. The Logik-e is definitely on my list. I know you meant hardwoods, but I am going to try and pick up both hardwoods and softwoods varieties. Will also try to snag a couple of lesser known products as well, if they are in stock...
