I'm making a list of things I want to do to get the stove ready for next season. One thing that has been bugging me is the plastic cover for the control panel. Because it is old and has been pushed a million times, the plastic itself has cracked and broken apart. The board itself is fine. I just want to get a new plastic cover. I've found the whole board for $150 but why buy the whole board? I know several manufacturers use this board and I was hoping one of you more knowledgeable folks could point me in the right direction. Here's a picture of the cover.

If it's any help, it looks just like the one on my St Croix, except for the logo.

Thanks Jay. I did a Google search to find the manufacturer, then wandered around the Internet for a half hour without success. It figures the one place I would never think to go is Magnum. Who'd a thunk it? Thanks.

I figured that there were only a few companies that made this controller and it's easy to change the faceplate.

    Thanks guys!

That's not bad really. At least they give the option to buy the plastic cover separately. Going to the factory that makes the cover would've probably gotten you nowhere. There's minimum buys and the bigger thing that they more than likely can't sell direct to individual end users.

Will do Jay. I've said this for the past few years, but I really need (want) to upgrade my combustion blower and I really should replace my distribution blower. They're 9 years old and I know they will decide to die on the coldest day next year. While I'm at it, I really should replace my auger bushing for the same reason. And...I should take the gearbox apart on my auger motor and grease it. I have a feeling that I'm on borrowed time and I don't want to deal with a problem in the middle of Winter.

My plan is to bring the stove into my shed/shop and go right through it on a nice warm summer day. Ahhhhhhhhhhh

I thought about replacing the cover on mine, but since it still works I figured I would save the cash.

Mines been broke for a couple of years. Sitting in my chair, I'm looking right at it. I figured, seeing as I'll be in a fixin' mood this summer, I may as well do it. If I don't, it will bug me like crazy.

I thought the same last year...but as time passed I became happy with my decision. I figure no one else can see it.

If it were me, I'd get the parts ordered and get them replaced now while you're thinking of them. I found summer isn't a great time, as there's always something more important to do.:drunk:

Keep the old blower motors as spares. When their out, any cleaning & lubing is easier to do. Maybe contact don2222 about upgrading the exhaust blower fan, and the bushing too.

Funny you mentioned Don, Macman. We've stayed in touch and he's the guy I will go to. He's less than 1/2 hour from me. Good advice on the repairs. Money will pretty much dictate when I do the job. I agree, my stove will be the last thing I think of in the middle of the summer. Maybe Don has a layaway program? I will keep the old blowers too. They are working fine but a good cleaning and Lube won't hurt and I'll have spares!
