Yes there is a PM about this group buy on OPE. There order has already been placed but Bruce, who is the owner of OPE is ordering extra 660 kits. The build off at Randys place has a few different classes with different regs for each class. The kits ordered were available with the Cross jug that Randy designed for that cylinder. Bruce is having these all shipped to him and then shipped to individuals. I paid $243 for a 660 kit including the Cross cylinder shipped to my door. There are a few items in the kits that some are concerned need to be replaced with Oem or better aftermarket parts. Off the top of my head, piston wrist pin bearing, pin c-clips, case gasket, seals and maybe the starter parts if you like to recklessly tug or comp gets a bit high with machine work.
There is home for one of those extra kits over here in Ohio if he cares to sell it to me. How would I contact Mr Bruce? I'm not familiar with OPE...
opeforum.com is the site Im referring to. If you care to join over there send "Gentleman" a pm. If not hlsproparts.com is his parts website. Im sure you can contact him through that site.
Are these kits actually any good or is it a rabbit hole of disappointment ? I sorta wanted to try and port a saw, are any drawings available for a generic port job ?
OK, so I sent Bruce an email and he said they are making another order that will be due to arrive in May. $175 plus the cost of shipping from his shop to your door.
Ok, cool. What were the cylinders that were available? Farmertec, Cross, and ?????. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
I think it was Hyway. I was thinking there were 3 cylinders to choose from but may I am wrong. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Probably. I've not used a cross yet. A few people have them and a gasket delete gets about 200 lbs of compression
$195 shipped to Wayne Co. Ohio...$50 more gets you the Cross cyl. So the point of getting a Cross cylinder would be for the extra HP? Or is it more of a durability thing?
