In the past few days I've gotten a couple loads more white oak. Tomorrow might be my splitting day. Got my father out to run some saws with me day before yesterday so he deserves some credit on that one. Ended up getting 7 small white oaks and 1 small gum this evening. Another trailer load for the growing pile. Got pics of several of them. Snagged the pics during the process and some after I loaded the wood. After a muffler mod the 340/345 hybrid is running like a scalded cat. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Cut those stumps down closer to the ground. Once you have bucked up the logs a few minutes spent cutting the stumps to size will add to your hoard.
I wish I could the company that gave me permission to cut said to leave 18-24" stumps so they can come in and pull them with a bucket and dozer. Going to be a new subdivision so everything will be clear cut here soon. Hoping to get some pine once I can grab all the a usable hardwood so can store it to mill up once I get a chainsaw mill. I hate to leave behind so much wood on the stumps but orders have to be followed. Going to be able to snag quite a bit of hickory here next few evenings I believe once I clear all the oaks. Ended up going out to get another load this evening. Got a good size red oak and pin oak along with another small hickory. Took about 3 hours but was well worth it. Was able to get my father to tag along so he could run some saws and get out into the woods. Got a pretty good sized red oak this evening. Gave the new 20" Pro Lite bar on the 562 a good work out and tested a Timber Ridge bar on the 340. The Timber Ridge bar is a cheap but good bar. Reminds me of a Oregon Double Guard bar. Love the Pro Lite bar with a RSC Stihl chain Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

I love that red oak. I get quite a bit of it to split. Splits easy and burns nice. Nice straight trunk on that one. Thanks for the pics.

Got an unintended scrounge today. Saw it on the way back from work and I picked up my equipment when I got back then got all the usable wood I could. Couldn't pass up white oak laying on the ground. Got a good bit of red oak split and stacked this afternoon. The 340 with a 18" bar and my 42lb lab/beagle rescue Blaze standing there for size reference. No doubt. Still got another 6 white oaks to process that I have cut up on the lot. A lot of work ahead of me but it will be worth it.
