Looks like its there...bad angle...hard to see against the grass. Anybody else notice its free shipping except for buyer pays any import duties?
I did a while back. I think it was $40 or $50. It did not go up much more for 2. How is shipping now? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Notice they go out of their way to not have the name sthil anywhere on that e bay link. The reviews seem to be cut and paste, some not even for the item in question.
A few members on OPE have ordered a bunch of these kits. Some are being used in a "build off" at Randys gtg in october. Should be fun.
It was 98.00 for one 066/660 parts kit. You must need a desk or laptop to preview shipping cause I can't seem to pull it up on my phone.
Has anyone here bought and assembled one of those parts kits? If so how did they run? Maybe a fun project if they ran alright for what they are. I know it wouldn't compete with a real stihl but would be fun to put together.
There's a guy on YouTube who has put a few together. Chain tensioner needs a mod or OEM. He uses OEM crank seals and steel caged bearings. He suggests an upgrade to OEM on the handlebar. I've heard him an OEM carb helps with idling.
I finally figured out how to check shipping rates without signing in...(1) 660 kit was $86, and (2) was $147, this is to NE OH
That does sound like fun...kinda like a grownup (FHC) version of when we were kids...go to a party and come home with a cool new craft you made! If a few people are interested in messin with these, someone should coordinate a combined order for best shipping rates.
Yeah...I'm thinking about it too. I've been looking for a cheap big bore saw for well over a year...I'm thinking if I'm gonna hafta work on it anyways, may as well build it ground up...chances are one of these would hold up fine for my occasional firewood duty...IDK
There is a guy here in Ohio that evidently peddles these as he is always on the local craigslist. He seems to have all the knockoffs and says he has a lot of them. You may want to call to see if he will do a bulk order. I know nothing about him but do know he dropped the STIHL name from his postings now. Here is a link. He is just north of Dayton, Ohio from the listing. Brand New Chainsaws with EZ-Start
That'll be Walt "weimedog" aka "afleetcommand." Watch his vids if you have any interest in these builds. He's done a bunch.
