Heard they were good saws, found one for sale. Now my dilemma is a new 241 or the barely used 026 for half the price. Saw felt great in my hands. I know the guy from the power shop. Good honest guy.

I went with an 036 instead of a new non pro saw. Can't say I regret it.

    I own an 026....
I can't say it's fantastic but it'll do some work when needed. I tried this on some redwood while it was raining, probably a good test because it showed that the saw took some heat when the weather was soaking wet. I went to plunge cut the bottom of a large chunk of the redwood after refilling with gas and oil and it bogged down. (Saw was on its side) Suffice to say that this likely was an overheat because the chain wasn't digging in when I pulled the trigger low rpm. I say it lacks power (grunt) but makes up for it in versatility. Its a good saw but best have this take care of smaller ends of trees rather than larger rounds. Stick with 16-18 inches at the most if you got a long tree to work on, the 026 is not a pro unless you have it on there.

I really like my 026, especially since I swapped in an adjustable oiler from a Pro version. Make sure it has a fully adjustable carburetor. Set it up for 3/8LP, and it's a thing of beauty.

Yeah I'm looking for a small firewood saw. My 044 seems a bit much for forearm sized wood. I use it for felling and main part of bigger trees. Plus I need an excuse to justify putting another saw in my truck

It has an 18" bar. But I'll swap it out to a 14" or maybe 16"

The 16" Picco bar to fit an 026 is discontinued, but they show up on eBay fairly often. PN 3003 000 6313.

I own an 026 and love it. For half the price of a 240 I would be all over it if it is in decent condition. I have dropped plenty of largish trees with mine but at 50cc it is not a huge power house. Don't try to run much more than the 20 inch , 0.325, bar I have on mine or it will run out of power.

If you are looking for a saw that size, buy it! I have the 260 and use it for every thing up to about 8 inches. It is also just the ticket for yard clean up, etc.

I suggest the 241 if you need a saw to cut smaller trees and limb the canopy of downed trees. I ran mine stock for a year and really liked it. I got it ported about 6 months ago and man it runs like a mad termite. It's the only saw I use now for firewood.
