Friend had a big persimmon and decent size cherry blow over and needed them gone. I think I posted about it awhile back. Got over there today on my sick day... Had to go back a second time to get the rest of the cherry after dropping off the persimmon and larger cherry rounds. No joke, the larger persimmon rounds have to weigh somewhere near 100#

Definitely feeling better....actually I just had an early dentist appointment but I took the whole day since I commute pretty far. Hopefully the other persimmon trees around his place blow over and I can go back for seconds.

Nice score! How's persimmon for firewood?

Now, you go wrap yourself in a blanket and sit by the fire and mom will bring you some nice chicken soup. You're sick ya know.

It's great firewood. Back in the day, Persimmon is what they used to make golf club heads.

Is that perhaps a white mold on the bark or is that just how this wood looks?

It's that flaky algae/mossy stuff that grows on the shaded parts of the tree. I've never burned persimmon before but I've been collecting it. I'll report back on how it burns in 2018 :salute:
