    Thats my 455, not the biggest but a sharp chain goes a long way. Skeeming on a larger saw but sock fund not quite there yet! Lol!

    The 455 Rancher will get the job done. That peavey looked a little small next to that tree.

    Thats a dixie brand cant hook i believe it has a 36 or 48 in. handle.

    Looks to me that it is doing a fine job on that Oak. Take your time and that saw will do it without a doubt!!

    Nice and sunny but pretty chilly. A bit of wind too. Nothing like sawdust in the face.

    Peavey has a point (spike) on the end, cant hook has a blunt end. (that difference?)

    First picture is peavey and second is cant hook. Usually the cant hook is a bit more useful especially if you want to pick up on the end of the log to move it rather than roll it which sometimes is necessary. Plus when rolling a log it will grab better with the toe on the end of the handle to grab.

    buckman84 I have to wonder why you didn't just cut that log rather than noodle? Of course, I have never liked noodling but that is beside the point. I see you have a splitter but have to lift the log onto it rather than splitting vertically but I also see you have a steel wedge laying there for splitting the log in half. Just curious.
