The measurable fall is not significant. Think I could find 9 or so if I brought out the tape. Ice/frozen rain has been squashing it down much of the day. Heavy, heavy 9-10 fall. Tractor can only push about 15 feet before she lifts the front end and bogs down.
Here you go it's only been snowing hard for about 4 hours, wind steady at 25 mph, gusting to 35 mph. Neighbor just plowed my truck out! Yeah!
Yesterday we were getting 18-24" last night it changed to 12-18" this morning down to 3-5. We got 5" before change over to rain. Now just a slushy 2" left.
The turkeys don't like it either. Hanging by the pool Headed for the stacks and bugs Dinner time Now down the driveway to roost.
10 inches of heavy, wet snow. If it freezes solid overnight, then so be it. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
wind died down enough for a quick pic snows foot deep on window sills for reference that dark thing to left of birch is wife's raised rose bed 3 feet high
Here's one from a local news feed. 60-100 foot pine. Too snapped off after it hit the house. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
I'm in SE Mass, we got a quick 5" and then the sleet and rain took over. No pics worthy of a post from my area. regardless of that we rec'd about 2" of rain that we really needed, the reservoirs are still a bit low from the drought last year.
Wind doing some interesting things with the snow. Roof is almost clear, couple feet up against the house.
There's some of that heavy snow. Pines don't do well in those conditions. I remember getting a cup of coffee together one morning following this kind of wet snow mix. I was amazed the the giant white pine outside the kitchen window was staying together like it was. All the lower limbs were bent over severely and laying on the ground. Just thought it was a sight to see. Turned to put the coffee into the cup and heard what sounded like a bowling tournament kicking off on the second floor of my house. Looked outside to see about 12 limbs were now piled up on the edge of the patio and on top of many holly shrubs. Save all but two shrubs but what a mess! Heavy snow on heavy limbs, and freggin sap on everything.
