I posted this in another thread but might as well do it here too. Coming down heavy at 7:30 this morning with 6"-7" on the shed; about 11" now.
Coming down good now. Looks like a whiteout. Peeking out my deck door. Wood rack on the right. But, I bought a load inside, so I don't need to do anything more than peek at it. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
Starting to blow a bit here too. Maybe 3" on the ground so far. Just loaded up the car, gonna see if TSC is open, then the dump.
Dennis you know that luck follows hard work and preparation wife work called dentists office shutting early because of roads so we are a mid week family time!
And it's winding down here; all except the wind howling at 20-30mph. So much for my nice clean driveway.
23,000 customers without power and climbing here in MA. Mostly in central MA. Power crews as far as Canada are spread out on standby. Winds are picking up. Snow totals are low now, but 2"-4" per hour predicted this afternoon. Whiteouts being reported.
I got word from our power company (Consumers) that they had over 1 million without power last week. I think DTE had even more than that so it was a big time power outage here and yes, they said it was a record.
Picked up this 4ft rack with top cover for $20 off CL yesterday. Yesterday Today Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Mind you my truck is almost completely under a carport! Grabbing some grub then heading to mom and pops to get them cleared. 30 out, 77 in! Break out the shorts! Lol! And btw, it just started snowing like crazy again
This guy says it all, but it is not for innocent ears. Nothing dirty, but he uses a lot of cuss words so if you don't want the young ones to hear this here (nothing they don't hear in the school yard) don't play it where they can hear it. www.hillbillyweather.com This is for the New England area.
No loss of power here. 1:30 update. This is the west facing side of the house. With a noreaster, the wind dumps the snow on the leeward side, this side. Note the far railing. Exposed to the wind, it's clear. Still snowing sideways. Wood stove keeping the place nice and toasty. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
13:40, seems to have let up some on snow but the wind is pretty strong. Lost shingles off the garage from the same spot Storm Sandy took them.
I took down my shelter cover during the first snow and just left it down; tractor is in the shed. My friend in New Jersey does what you do; he goes out and knocks the snow off of it, setting an alarm just so he does not fall asleep and it collapses. They won't take a snow load that is for sure.
Stay safe and warm folks. No snow or ice here, temps stayed up and we just got rain. Mostly cloudy and windy and cold, at least for me; so I am indoors enjoying having a nice wood fuel stove to heat the house.
Thanks, and sounds good, Kimberly. Seems like it's nearing it's end. Changing over to sleet/rain. 33 outside 72 inside. Might need to venture outside in a couple of hours, and make a few passes with the snowblower, while still bright outside.
