While I was working up that big oak I posted about, a guy would drive by now and then, stop and shoot the bull and talk about how much work I was doing. About 5 days ago I was in my barn running my table saw and a head pops up through the stairway opening. It's the same guy. He says the state tree service just dropped a large sugar maple at his property (about a mile away from my house) and if I wanted it, I could have it. Yes sir! Worked it up yesterday and day before. Ended up with a full load in my neighbors F250. The biggest rounds were a little over 20" and hard as heck and heavy - had to sledge and wedge them to lift into the truck. Another nice load - this winter has been a boon for wood! But.......another, much better post is about to come.......... Cheers!
Indeed Blazing - he's a real nice guy and just stopping work to talk and laugh made a new friend - which led to this score - win/win! Cheers!
Indeed Dennis - been blessed with a string of great wood opportunities and, although a lot of hard work, cant' beat that all were within about a mile or so of my house! Cheers!
