Yep this winter has been brutal! I don't live way out but it's still the "country", everything is more difficult.

Maybe we can work some type of stove swap if you sell the place and don't let the stove go with it. :)

I'm banned from there. I don't think we are thinking of the same place.

Ah. Well, there is one there for sale, too.

Well, I was referring to a 30 for sale in the classifieds on a different forum.

If we move, I'm afraid the King will be staying. The hearth is a pretty big part of the room, and would look pretty stupid with nothing on it. If the buyers don't want it, you'll be the first to know.

I think one of your other stoves will look fine in the place of the king!

Fantastic idea. I am more than willing to drive out to Jeff's home and swap out the King for the 30 or the Defiant. I will do all the work. I'll even bring beer for Jeff to drink while I move the stoves.

    Let's make this happen Jeff!

Right where I want to be.
You know, I keep doing this.
Getting myself (and you guys) all geeked up about a new stove, then........
I think I'll wait it out until this summer/fall to see how things shake out.
In the meantime, I'll keep putting more money aside as I can and watching CL too.
Like you Pete (and others), most of the stoves I find there are crap and too much for what they are.
ESW has a new smartstove coming sometime, the IS will be coming in June-ish, the Sirocco is getting rave reviews from blueguy in another world, and there's not much time left to burn this season.
First choice is the Sirocco/Ashford 30, then the IS, then the NC30.
I can blow myself out of the house in SS with the stove I have, so I don't need another stove like that.
One way or another, there WILL be a new stove in this house by early next season.
I'm now certain of that. I'd love to find a nice used Princess Ultra within a couple hundred miles.
Oh, and not really an afterthought, but you guys are all great.
I really appreciate the support and offers.

You'll have to bring some materials, as the hearth is only Durock and slate. Need more Rs.

    I have the tools.

If I bring enough beer we can crush the cans down and lay them out for added R-Value.

As long as it's Dale's. I don't drink anything else that comes in a can.

Just checked Woodstove.com earlier today, and they have a new Beta tester as of yesterday for the IS.
I also noticed that the hinges for the flip top that covers the cat are now hidden.
Don't know how long that change has been in effect, or if it's an option.
I like the stove more with those hinges unseen.
I'm not one for frills and googaws, so a plain Jane model is what I'd go for. Maybe add some side medallions at a later date.:)
I do like the idea of the trivets though.
It's kind of funny how at first I didn't like the utilitarian look of the BKs, then that grew on me and I ended up thinking about getting the Princess Ultra.
Now, same thing seems to be happening with the IS.
