Guess if I ever buy an aluminum body vehicle, I'll have to be sure not to load concrete blocks or tool boxes that way! Oh wait, I don't load them or anything like that anyway...!!

Lol. Those tests are the biggest joke ever. Check this out..
How Realistic Is the Chevy Silverado Bed Test?

Ford replied with their own as a response.

GM has always had whack marketing. Ford's being the #1 selling truck for 40 years straight, including 2015 and 2016 with the all aluminum body and bed prove that whack marketing schemes don't mean anything.

What, you don't try to ruin your new truck the day you pick it up? What?

    Of course not.

I had my replacement bumper Line-X'd. If I didn't use a plastic liner, I'd have my bed done too.

Yota will probably go aluminum too soon. The current 5.7 tundra is a gas sucker. I love yota trucks though. I suppose I could get the 4.6 v8 as they get better mpg than the 5.7. I love the power rear window option on the tundra.

The Wood Wolverine umm here's a question for you.. can you under coat trucks with that spray? I am thinking it would prevent rust from the brine pretty well Might make replacing parts challenging

I'm unaware on that. I'd imagine you wouldn't want to coat over brake lines, any electrical etc.

I have the 4.7 '03 (so I missed out on the sliding rear glass) and my dad has a 5.7 '14. He hates the mileage, but loves the way it pulls his travel trailer. I've pulled a few things with it too and they're stout. It's all what you prefer.

Weather channel is calling for 12 to 18 inches for me. S&S looks like 22 to 24 inches. Either way, there's a lot of snow coming! I filled up the wood rack by the back door this morning and I have a freezer full of venison so I'll make it through just fine! 008.JPG 009.JPG

Our old 1999 F250, bunch a dents in it from being in construction the last few years and they tipped it on its side a year or two ago IMG_20170220_121238821.jpg , but still.... WWW snapped this pic last week when one of the guys at work pulled into the shop. Same in Colorado, not too much rust even after years.

I don't have a dog in this fight as I drive a ram 2500 diesel. Notice how gm used square edged objects and Ford used rounded objects apples to oranges. I use my truck for what a truck should be used for and could careless what the inside of the bed looks like. If it gets damaged then I fix it and move on I plan on having it till it dies anyway which will probably be after I'm gone.

I am with ya on what truck bed... my only question is why would some one pay 30,000 plus for a truck and plan on using it as a truck and NOT put an Xtra 1000 for a bed liner.. seems :loco:

I love it. Chevy is way behind in weight savings, 4 more years, so they make believe it doesn't matter and they are staying "old school". You have to love the advertising companies turning a disadvantage into an advantage. Who in their right mind dumps broken rocks into a pickup bed from a FEL? When that kind of thing is being hauled to a construction site it is in a beat up open topped truck that is badly dented from prior loads.

Depends on the liner spray in are good and I'm doing mine this summer. The slip in ones trap water and grime under them and in my neck of the woods that promotes rust. I have had 2300lbs of gravel dumped in mine at the quarry from a fel. Yes I have a much bigger GMC dump truck but the cost of fuel, license and inspection make using it for smaller loads impractical plus the size makes it hard to get into places.

I'm with the school of thought that spraying that stuff on the underside (undercoating) will sure plug up any weep holes. Whether those holes are in the frame or on the body, you don't want them closed up....

Kinda hard to claim weight savings if you need to spray a few hundred pounds of plastic bed liner in to protect it.
Maybe they should make complete vehicles out of Line-X !
It really is disgusting that a $60,000 truck can rust out in 5-10 years. The automakers should be ashamed!!!
