No cutting here today. Five degrees out right now, and the wind is howling. At least the sun is shining!

Not planning on cutting although I'd like to be. 22 degrees is not bad for wood cutting and I'd much rather do it now than when the temperature gets up there. Also get now before the bugs come out.

Just like the weather people today. It used to be a cold wind. Now it is dangerous... Like we can't decide what it is like, huh... It used to be we'd put on the long johns and heavy coats and gloves and just go out to work. Now we have to be told it is dangerous. Okay.

This is a white oak stump I split too. The tree has been cut about 7 years. Very little punk.

Backwoods Savage You must remember the days before they invented windchill. When I was a kid, all we had to go by was a thermometer. Rode my bike year round, even if it was -30F. No high tech clothes either.

If the damm wind stops, I'm cutting on a couple loads of pine that showed up for free next to the driveway. Would like to get it cut and moved up to the processing area before the ground thaws again.
