The last one is one of my six cats who really love the porch. They sit in the window enjoying the sun and bird watching.

Yup. Campbell, Luke, and Lily. All from the same breeder in Austin TX. That's an old picture. Campbell passed away a month ago at the ripe old age of 14. Luke is now 10 as is Lily. When that picture was taken five years ago, Luke was 5, Lily was 5, and Campbell was 9. Luke's a retired show dog and has sired many a litter. He's still in demand too.

In that pic and looking at Luke, all I can think of is the Bush's Baked Beans dog :)

I have always had rescue dogs. Luke was a gift from our breeder friends in TX. He turned out to be drop dead gorgeous so the breeder asked if I would allow him to be shown. We said sure and then I found out about the right way to breed a dog. He had to get his clearances when he turned one. Hips, eyes, elbows, heart all had to get clearances. He turned out to be a perfect specimen and he went on the show circuit until he was 7. When he would get a "date", we had to do a DNA comparison to make sure they weren't related too closely. Lily and Campbell were not show quality so they offered them to us. How could we say no? They are all awesome dogs!

Well Mr. Bear, he is doing well. Still has the feeding tube, (we have nicknamed him tubey) He is allowed to have puddings, applesauce, yogurt, and clear liquids. He claims he is having no issue and is confident swallowing. He has a doctors visit Tuesday which will likely be rescheduled due to weather, and is hoping to graduate to pureed, textured foods, and getting rid of the feeding tube. He has begun doing some chores and is picking up his 12 lbs. son. He looks so much better now that he is getting proper nutrition. He wants/needs to get back to work and it will take some work to build muscle back and regain his stamina. Fortunely I have a few chores around here that need to be done that should help him out some.
    Thanks for askin !!

    Doggy

I believe it. 4* this morning with highs to be in the teens. Then 1* forecast for tonight. All in preparation for the nor'easter Tuesday thru Wednesday. This is all my fault - I had hoped to get the bike out of storage. Guess that ain't happening any time soon.

Oh yeah, since it was so cold and windy last weekend, I put off cleaning the stoves. I have to clean them this weekend as the as pans are getting really full. Will be choochin the cellar dweller when it is time to shut down the P43 so the main floor doesn't cool off too much.

You probably already know this, but use the cleaning tool or a long screwdiver to mix up the ash. That will usually settle it down quite a bit and buy some more time. You dont want to shut down this weekend of you dont have to.

Frankly, I dont want to leave the house today. I just came back from walking next door to let neighbors dogs out. Its :shiver::shiver:
They are due back sometime today and the 2 old goldens will be very happy to see them as they have been cooped up for a week all by themselves.
