I only spotted him because I zoomed in on the dead standing tree to the left. Then panned right and there he was. You know it's bad when you look passed the deer and big foot to see the trees.
Been itching to get back in there but just haven't had the time. Here are a few of last years sheds I found in this area earlier this winter.
I've seen pieces of sheds for sale at the pet store to give to dogs to chew on. Should the ones picked up in the woods be sanitized in any way before giving them to the dogs?
Nope. In fact, my dog likes em still fresh with blood. If they've been in the sun for years, they can be brittle and split when chewed so that needs to be watched. You can spot these because they are usually extra white and not off white. Here's Bentley picking out his next one after destroying the previous one.
Thanks again for that! I've got 2 left iirc. I've given a few of them to my neighbors dogs after their owners freak out at what they cost in the pet stores.
Emma would chew on them all day but it has to be monitored as the Blur Brothers wouldn't stand a chance if she thought they were trying to take it from her.
Goes with the territory. Some animals are very possessive of their food. Seems to be a genetic thing. My dogs will steal from one another and tolerate it. Even will let you take food out of their mouth. But I wouldn't try that with most dogs. My cats don't care at all and are not the least bit possessive of anything. Dogs might warn them when they come near them while they are eating.
The only time I've seen her act like her crazy brother Murphy. We just don't bother anymore with antlers.
Found a few today but only the small one on the top left was found anywhere near where the camera was. Spotted a few of these from the road while driving around.
I am a forester in the woods like everyday and ride tons of roads. I haven't found that many sheds in a decade!! Yall must have bucks hanging around all over the place!!
Protected, no hunting land within city limits.... Lots of deer and turkey. They know where the are safe
This year is an anomaly for me to. I work lots in the bush combined with many many miles of hunting and exploring over the years and until I found this "shed promise land" I have only found a handful of sheds over the past 30 years. My cousin in a forestry tech and finds many deer and moose sheds every year. He tells me you have to train your eyes but once you have it there is no stopping it. I have even seen him step into the rough while golfing to look for a ball and come out with a matching set of sheds
