Appears to me no one here can really type. Hate forums like this a lot. I think kind of disrespectful really. Good thing you can't delete in a couple days. Al
Some nice old tractors. I really like the 54 pacer with the snow plow on the front and chained up. I do not have any Massey tractors myself but I do have a couple of old Ford. Still running and still working.
Hey There Al, Nice collection of Tractors to say the least. Some nice shots of the family alongside some of them too. To be honest I got tied up with a few other threads last night that I needed some answers to and tonight I started to surf the new posts and I cam came upon yours. When I go the the county fairs in the fall the two things I enjoy the most are the horse pulls and the tractor pulls. I think the awesome muscle and power that goes into pulling the sleds is amazing.
My earliest memory are of my dad's two Massey 44s. One had a narrow front end and the was a standard or wheatland. At the same time my Grandpa had a 444 and 44 row crop with a wide front end and a front end loader with a trip bucket. I am sure that the first tractor I ever drove was my dad's 44 with the narrow front end. These pictures bring back memories. I enjoyed looking at them!
Nice collection We have a couple of 22's and a pony. Here we are grading our cottage road with one of the 22's.
What year is that 22? the serial number if the plate is missing is just ahead of the PTO switch or where it would be if you had one. 22 Standard 1948 1,001 1949 1,542 1950 3,208 1951 4,532 1952 5,717 1952 20,046 ** See note below. 1953 20585 ******A mid year change occurred here I believe. The serial numbers from here in both the Row Crop & Standard Gas are the same as the Kerosenes. Perplexing I must say. Al
On second thought, we may not be heading to the cottage this weekend as they are calling for -5 F ....and that's during the day
Up a cold weekend coming up and the next week doesn't look very promising if you don't know how to dress for the cold. Al
I work outside almost every day in this weather. It's not me I'm worried about....It's the complaining from the rest of the clan I can do with out thanks. Cottage is barely a 3 season dwelling. 2x4 construction with lots and lots of single pane glass and an un-insulated hardwood floor.
I and my friends have many times went hunting coyotes when the wind chill is -30F below zero. Like I said Hi Tec clothing, layering and heat packs in places to keep us warm. Al
